Overview of The Deep Autumn Color Palette
Hi ladies! Today, we are wrapping up the sub-domains within the Autumn color season. If you do not feel that the Soft or Warm/True Autumn color palette resonates with your natural skin, eye and hair coloring, then perhaps today you will discover your authentic, signature color season in the Deep Autumn color palette; let’s begin.
If you have determined through process of elimition (check out Part 1. of the Color Synergy Series) that you are in fact a wam color season and you have further determined through process of elimination (check out Autumn vs. Spring) that you are an Autumn color season, but have observed that your dark, rich, sultry features do not resonate with the Deep Winter OR the Soft or Warm/True Autumn color palette; then you are more than likely a Deep Autumn Woman of Style!
To be a Deep Autumn color season you will, like the Soft and Warm Autumn season, present as having warm skin undertones that in appearance if you are a woman of color, specifically an African American woman will present as having a gorgeous, warm, deep bronzy color in varying intensities; and if you are a Caucasian woman who happens to be a Deep Autumn color palette you will have a deeper warmth to your overall coloring that presents as either warm tan, warm, deep olive, medium bronze or deep, warm latte.
Key to determining if you are a Deep Autumn color season is the fact that your eyes and hair will present as deep OR dark in appearance; similar to that of the Deep Winter color season. This is why the Deep Autumn and Deep Winter color seasons are considered sister seasons because you share the same deep and dark qualities (hair + eyes). BUT, if your dominant color season is that of the Deep Autumn color palette your skin tone is WARM, rather than being cool; and although your eyes and hair are DEEP its dominant characteristics are also WARM.
Please Note: If you are an African American woman who happens to be a Deep Autumn color season, your main determining characteristics will be your skin and eyes. Most AA women who do fall within the Deep Autumn color palette, your hair will already be noticeabley deep and dark; which is one of the main reasons why AA women who are Deep Autumn’s flow into the Deep Winter color season. Always pay close attention to your skin quality and eye appearance first and foremost, then your hair if you are an AA woman who happens to have dominant DEEP features.
Below is an example of a classic, Deep Autum Woman of Style who is an African American woman. Actress Nia Long’s eyes and hair are deep and dark; however, her skin presents as warm, deep and bronze. Most AA women who do fall within the Autumn color palette will present as warm with varying intensities of having a warm, bronzy brown appearance; as evident in Nia Long, Angela Bassett, and Queen Latifah.
The next example of a Deep Autumn Woman of Style who hapens to be a Latin-American actress would be the beautiful Jessica Alba. Although Jessica is also mixed with Danish and French she definetly leans towards the deep, rich autumn color season. Jessica’s eyes and hair are medium dark in quality and her skin quality presents as medium bronze. Other Latin American actresses that are Deep Autumn Women of Style include: Eva Longoria, and Gina Torres (Afro-Latina)

What are your POWER colors?
Your palettes POWER colors are colors, for example, from the DEEP Autumn color palette will radiate against your natural, warm coloring. POWER colors of the Deep Autumn color palette convey an energetic vibration that are smoldering, warm colors that illuminates the best of who you are in your overall image and personal style, as well as your personal brand. These colors are your palettes GO-TO colors when you want to make a confident, powerful statement; especially in a business/corporate environment – more on that later!
The ANCHOR colors found within the Deep Autumn color palette are considered neutral colors that can be found in your (or should be added to your) wardrobe capsules. Anchor colors ‘anchor’ your wardrobes overall look; for example, if you chose to wear a Deep Navy, 2-piece, pant suit to work or a job interview you can complement this outfit with your POWER colors as an inside blouse, completed with one of your palettes signature, ACCENT colors (coming up next!). Likewise, you can also wear your palettes anchor colors in your handbags, shoes, outdoor fall/winter/sping/summer accessories. Anchor colors are your palettes BEST neutral colors that pull everything together into a fabulous, cohesive personal style.
What are your ACCENT Colors?
Lastly, your palettes ACCENT colors are the DEEP + WARM Autumn’s most richest and vibrant colors that some women who fall within the Deep Autumn color palette, may feel is too strong for them to wear within their actual wardrobe items. The rule for me and which I share with my clients is the 80/20 rule. This means that I have chosen to wear 80% of my palettes POWER + ANCHOR colors and about 20% of my palettes ACCENT colors only in my accessories, my nail color, and selectively in my makeup colors. For example, one of the accent colors from the deep autumn color palette is that of Hot Tomato Red and Chinese Blue. These colors might be too strong for some women; however, by utilizing the 80\20 rule you can incorporate your palettes accent colors on your nail polish, as lipgloss/lipstick which adds a pop of sultry color to your normal makeup palette or to your evening accessories; again, how you choose to wear any of your palettes signature colors are personal to you.
