Overview The Basic Winter Color Season
Yes, I am back yet again with our final sub-domain for the winter color season and that would be the
CLEAR Winter color palette
Introducing the Clear Winter Color Palette
So, thus far we’ve covered the DEEP Winter color palette and the COOL Winter color palette. If you haven’t had a chance to read those articles, I highly suggest you start there first before reading today’s article on the CLEAR Winter woman of style. But, if you know for sure through our process of elimination steps that you definitely fall into the CLEAR winter color palette keep reading, as this specific winter color palette has the clearest and purest jeweled toned colors of the color seasons, next to that of the Clear Spring color palette; which we will be covering in the next section of our Color Synergy Series! If you have been assessed or you’ve done your own color synergy analysis on yourself and have determined that you are in fact a Clear Winter Woman of Style then similar to your sister winter palettes of the Deep and Clear Winter palette you too will present as cool, based upon your natural characteristics (hair, eyes and skin tone) including other nuanced determining characteristics, such as your freckles OR lack thereof!
However, what sets women apart who fall within the Clear Winter color palette vs. those women, such as myself, who fall within the Deep or Cool winter palette is one MAIN dominant characteristic and that would be your beautiful, sparkling eyes; that have been notably described as being jeweled in appearance. Women who present as being a Clear winter season your eyes are the first thing people notice about you! They are piercing, clear and sparkle, especially when out in natural daylight. (Click to tweet this tip!)
Although, women in general who fall within the winter color season have eyes that are more intense then women who fall within the sister color season of summer; your eyes are what enable you to wear the most vivid, clearest colors from the winter palette. Also, if you have determined that you are a Clear Winter season you most likely flow to the Clear Spring season, which I will get into in Part III of our Color Synergy Series.
Also, for women of color don’t count yourself out if you have determined that you are a Winter Woman of Style, but have found, through process of elimination, that the colors from the Deep Winter color palette and those from the Cool Winter color palette don’t really resonate with your overall, natural coloring. There are a select few women of color who do indeed fall within the Clear Winter color palette. Women of color who can successfully carry the Clear Winter color palette will have clear, light caramel/brown skin tones OR clearest of ebony black, as illustrated by supermodel Alek Wek and Selita Ebanks; they appear clear, not warm and muted – you are clear. Check out my celebrity example below! Lastly, if you are a woman of color your eyes although they can be dark will sparkle a gorgeous Black Onyx or Brown Black Jade etc. and the whites of your eyes are a pristine, sparkly white.
Now, some may argue that ebony, dark-skinned women can’t possibly fall within the Clear Winter palette; however, I don’t agree. Perhaps, women such as Alek Wek can flow – within seasons – and if so, I personally find that the clearest, purest colors from the winter color palette look absolutely amazing on her and sparkle beautifully against her perfect, ebony skin tone!
Caveat: I would like to also point out that one of the reasons why I am passionate about including color analysis within my image consulting and personal styling practice is because women of color in the past were never given as much attention within the original color analysis system. Unfortunately, women of color were either categorized as a deep winter or deep autumn season with emphasis usually put on women of color being mostly deep winters without further analysis or consideration of the nuanced, physical characteristics in skin tone, diverse eye patterns and hair colors. Thankfully, with the inception of the 12 Seasonal Color Analysis system it has expanded the application of color analysis to all women equally who do not neatly fit into just a basic – winter, summer, autumn or spring – season.
Below is an example of model Bianca Balti who falls within the Clear Winter palette. Her noticeably cool coloring is evident in her skin. But, look at those bright, sparkly eyes; a tell tale sign of a Clear Winter Woman of Style. Also, remember to look at the whites of your eyes – do they pop?
Women of color who fall within the Clear Winter color palette will also have clear, sometimes bright skin that spans in the shades of clearest caramel/browns to a gorgeous ebony, dark-skinned coloring. Women of color eyes who are indeed Clear Winters will have, but not limited to crystal clear Brown Black Jade and sparkling Black Onyx eyes.

What are POWER colors?
Your palettes POWER colors are colors, for example, from the Clear Winter color palette and will radiate against your vibrant natural coloring. POWER colors of the clear winter color palette convey an energetic vibration that are intense and vivid colors, which illuminates the best of who you are in your overall image and personal style, as well as your personal brand. These colors are your palettes GO-TO colors when you want to make a confident, powerful statement; especially in a business/corporate environments – more on that later!
What are ANCHOR Colors?
The ANCHOR colors found within the CLEAR winter color palette are considered neutral colors that can be found in your (or should be added to your) wardrobe capsules. Anchor colors ‘anchor’ your wardrobes overall look; for example, if you chose to wear a Pure Black, 2-piece, pant suit to work or a job interview you can complement this outfit with your POWER colors as an inside blouse, completed with one of your palettes signature, ACCENT colors (coming up next!). Likewise, you can also wear your palettes anchor colors in your handbags, shoes, outdoor fall/winter/spring/summer accessories. Anchor colors are your palettes BEST neutral colors that pull everything together into a fabulous, cohesive personal style.
What are ACCENT Colors?
Lastly, your palettes ACCENT colors are the CLEAR winter’s most energetic, purest, high contrast colors that some women who fall within the clear winter palette, may feel is too strong for them to wear within their actual wardrobe items. The rule for me and which I share with my clients is the 80/20 rule. This means that I have chosen to wear 80% of my palettes POWER + ANCHOR colors and about 20% of my palettes ACCENT colors only in my accessories, my nail color, and selectively in my makeup colors. For example, one of the accent colors from the clear winter palette is that of Icy Pink and True Red. These colors might be too strong for some women; however, by utilizing the 80\20 rule you can incorporate your palettes accent on your nail polish, as lipgloss/lipstick which adds a pop of sultry color to your normal makeup palette or to your evening accessories. Again, how you choose to wear any of your palettes signature colors are personal to you.
